1992年11月24日上午8时30分,浙江省H市大型贮粪池的管理人员正做着粪便销售前的准备工作。为了提高放粪仓的粪液面标高,利于自流排放,管理员合上启动吸粪泵的电闸,就在合闸的一瞬间,贮粪池象火药库似地被引爆了。 猛烈的爆炸使整座贮粪池的盖板全部掀起,其中14块预制混凝土多孔板断裂、破碎后溅落粪池内。不幸在这次事故中有4人死亡,1人烧伤,直接经济损失10万余元。事故发生后,省、地、市有关部门立即组织调查组对事故进行调查,结果表明:事故的直接原因是贮粪池内粪便发酵产生的沼气大量积聚、池内沼气密度已达可燃点,此时恰遇抽粪电动泵合闸启动,产生的电火花引爆池内沼气。
