Combined with the problems in the construction of the Xiangpishan 18 tunnel of civil engineering in Hubei-Chengdu-Chengdu Expressway, the causes of the arching and mountain detachment in the tunnel entrance during the excavation of the biased tunnel are discussed. It provides reference for the design and construction of similar projects in the future
