今年8月1日,是民国时期国民政府主席林森先生逝世64周年。林森先生,1868年2月11日生于福建省闽侯县尚干乡。在近代史上,他是中国官阶最高的福建人,位居国家元首之尊,虽然没有多少实权,却受到两岸人们的普遍尊敬。1943年5月,林森先生在接见加拿大大使前,因车祸头部受伤,造成脑溢血症。8月1日逝世。国民政府为林森举行隆重国葬,并改闽侯县为林森县。中共中央发来唁电:“林公领导抗战,功在国家”。重庆《新华日报》也发表题为《为元首逝世致哀》的社论。
August 1 this year, is the 64th anniversary of the death of Chairman Linsen of the National Government during the Republic of China. Mr. Lin Sen, born February 11, 1868 Shanghang Township, Minhou County, Fujian Province. In modern history, he was the highest ranking Fujian man in China, ranking first in the country. Although he did not have much real power, he was generally respected by people on both sides of the strait. In May 1943, Mr. Linsen had a headache caused by a car accident before he met the ambassador of Canada, causing cerebral hemorrhage. August 1 died. The National Government held a grand state funeral for Lin Sen and changed Minhou County to Linsen County. CPC Central Committee sent a telegram: “Lin Gong led the war of resistance, work in the country ”. Chongqing Xinhua Daily also published an editorial titled “Mourn for the Death of the Head”.
