In our study, antithrombin Ⅲ (ATⅢ) activity in 33 newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients was determined by coagulation method and compared with the normal control. The results showed that 25 cases were elevated (including 3 cases of DIC), 6 cases were normal and 2 cases were decreased. The average value of AL group was significantly higher than the control group (P <0.001); ALL and ANLL no significant difference between the two groups; It was also found that there was a positive correlation between ATⅢ activity and the number of peripheral blood progenitor cells in AL group, but not with coagulation and fibrinolysis parameters. The above findings suggest that elevated AT III activity of AL may be peripheral blood progenitor cells stimulated by the liver was not significantly damaged, so that the synthesis of AT Ⅲ hyperthyroidism. The results also show that increased AT III activity may also be one of the causes of AL bleeding.
