第一章总则第一条本条例根据民族健康,男女平等,婚姻自由,及一夫一妻制之原则制定之。第二条重婚、早婚、蓄婢、纳妾、童养媳,买卖婚姻及一切妨害婚姻自由之陋习,一律禁止。第三条结婚、离婚须由当事人自主,任何人不得强迫包办。第四条保障革命军人婚姻。凡蓄意破坏革命军人婚姻者,应予处罚。第二章结婚第五条男须满二十岁,女须满十八岁,方得结婚。第六条男女结婚,须同到结婚所在地之区(乡、镇)政府举行登记,登记后即成立夫妇关系,废除聘金、聘礼、装奁等陋习.
Chapter I General Provisions Article 1 These Regulations are formulated in accordance with the principles of national health, equality between men and women, freedom of marriage, and monogamy. Article 2 Bigamies, early marriages, savings, concubinage, child-daughter-in-law, sale and purchase of marriage and all the bad habits that impair the freedom of marriage are prohibited. Article 3 Marriage and divorce shall be autonomic by the parties, and no one shall be forced to arrange them. Article IV guarantees the marriages of revolutionary soldiers. Those who deliberately undermine the marriages of revolutionary soldiers should be punished. Chapter II Marriage Article 5 A male shall be 20 years of age and a female shall be 18 years old and shall be married. Article 6 To marry a man and a woman, a registration shall be held with the government of the district (township and town) where the marriage is held. After registration, a couple relationship shall be established and abolition of such bad habits as bride price, dowry and costume.
