当中国画从一种生活再现进入文人情怀,从而使其赋予了鲜明的文化特征和本体精神的时候,这是中国画的一次飞跃。当中国画从一种个体心性的抒发进入到一种火文化建构,大灵魂彰显的时候,这是中国画的又一次飞跃。第一次飞跃已经完成。第二次飞跃作为当代中国画的最重要的学术支点和学术命题,正在探索之中。尽管从当代中国画的现状看,为了中国画的第二次飞跃真正具有建构价值的画家为数寥寥,但正是这为数寥寥的画家将完成这个具有里程碑意义的超越。所以,我一直认为真正的文化是精英的文化。而周韶华无疑是这个中国画精英群体中最一重要的画家之一。
When Chinese painting reappears from a kind of life into the literati feelings, which gives it a distinctive cultural character and spirituality, this is a leap in Chinese painting. When the Chinese painting from a personal expression of the nature of mind into a fire culture construction, highlighting the great soul, this is another leap in Chinese painting. The first leap has been completed. The second leap is being explored as the most important academic pivot and academic proposition in contemporary Chinese painting. Although the current status of contemporary Chinese painting shows that there are only a handful of painters who really value construction for the second leap in Chinese painting, it is these few painters who will accomplish this landmark transcendence. Therefore, I always think that the real culture is the elite culture. And Zhou Shaohua is undoubtedly one of the most important painters in this elite group of Chinese paintings.
