我县总面积4,100平方公里,耕地351万亩,地处北温带,无霜期135～140天,年降雨量500～600毫米,有效积温3,100度左右,大部分土地为棕壤,自然条件较好,适于发展农业生产。 党的十一届三中全会以来,由于认真落实党在农村的各项政策和各种形式的生产责任制,大力推广农业技术,从1979年起连续四年增产增收,1981年全县粮食总产达到19.2亿斤(单产721斤),比1980年增加3.4亿斤。
