博物馆是对文物标本收集、保藏、研究、陈列、传播文化科学信息,为社会服务的文化教育机构。公益性是博物馆必须始终坚持的宗旨,只有坚持博物馆的公益性,才能让博物馆真正成为人们了解国家、城市历史文化的公共学校。今年两会决定,我国的1400家公益性博物馆和爱国主义教育基地两年内将免费开放,这是一个振奋人心的好消息。可见,国家已经在重视和加强公益事业这一块,并且,首先从博物馆开始。我们可以预见,通过博物馆的免费开放,将会为社会和人民带来不可低估的公益效应。
The museum is a cultural and educational institution that collects, preserves, studies, displays and disseminates cultural and scientific information for cultural relics and serves the society.
