甲本系发展的情形(一)北京大学於1898年成立,稱京师大学堂。1901年设经学、法学、文学、医学、格致、農、工、商八科。1911年改名北京大学,格致科改名理科。1913年设物理学门。1916年物理学门开始有毕业生。1919年废门改系,才稱物理系。这一时期在五四运动以前,校内已有人讲相对论,但是物理学在北大还是一门只有课堂讲授而不作实验的学科。(二)自1920年开始,本系即购置仪器成立物理实验室,设立金工厂以修配制造仪器。在这一段时期内,因为领导五四运动的革命思想在
A Department of the development of the situation (A) Peking University was founded in 1898, said the Imperial University. 1901 set by the school, law, literature, medicine, grid-oriented, agriculture, industry, business eight subjects. Renamed in Peking University in 1911, Georgia Department of Science renamed science. 1913 set up the door of physics. Physics began in 1916 graduates. Waste door reform in 1919, only said the Department of Physics. Before the May 4th Movement of this period, some people in the school already talked about relativity, but at Peking University, physics was still a subject taught only in the classroom without experimentation.
