Toothache is the most common oral disease in humans and has been afflicted by humans in ancient times. In the Neolithic site of Dadunzi, Juxian County, about 6,000 years ago, many human bones with dental caries and periodontal disease were found. Modern medicine tells us that toothache is more related to oral bacteria. In the underdeveloped ancient society of science, people also vaguely aware that toothache is due to a small bug in trouble. Sui Dynasty physician Chao Yuanfang and others completed in early 7th century, “the source of all syndromes,” is a specialized study of etiology and symptoms of various diseases, classic Chinese medicine. The book wrote nineteen, the cause of toothache there are two, one is due to “less pithy, Yangming pulse” and the other is caused due to tooth insects, “insects in the teeth, There are holes in the root, insects living in the meantime, but also spread the remaining teeth, are also pain ”(Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,“ the source of all syndromes ”, People's Health Publishing House, 1980,604-605 pages).
