“云间之游最钟情,一塔一池两园林;巍巍巧构多玲珑,醉白深味古人心。”这是一位游客游历松江后写下的短诗。诗中的“云间”为松江古称。“塔”指“方塔园”,“池”指“醉白池”。以建园的时间而言,方塔园是上海地区最年轻的著名园林,虽说“半园石头路,流水见倩影。四时绿映红,野趣复幽情”,但多的是文物。醉白池则是上海地区最古老的园林,已有900多年历史,园内古木葱茏,亭台密布,曲栏横槛,古色古香,与上海豫园、嘉定古猗园、秋霞圃,青浦曲水园并称五大古典园林。
