祖父刘冠三1872年2月16日生于山东省高密县康家庄。1899年,高密县曾爆发了由乡人孙文、李金榜领导的抗击德国人修筑胶济铁路的斗争,血气方刚的祖父毅然投入。1900年离乡来到济南,先是以抄写为生,后来考入山东大学堂师范馆(后改为山东师范学堂)。在校期间,他不仅认真读书,还积极参加社会活动,1905年由谢鸿焘介绍加入同盟会,成为山东最早的在本省发展的同盟会会员。1906年春,祖父与友人丁耕农集资在济南趵突泉东边的白雪楼创办了山东省第一家通俗文体的《白话报》,主要内容是宣传
Grandfather Liu Guansan was born on February 16, 1872 in Kangjiazhuang, Gaomi County, Shandong Province. In 1899, the struggle against the Germans to build the Jiao-Ji railway led by the townsmen Sun Wen and Li Jinbang broke out in Gaomi County. The fratricidal grandfather decided to devote himself.
