The House of Mirth is one of Edith Wharton’s outsanding masterpieces.This thesis tries to use Lacan’s Three Orders Theory to analyze the heroine Lily’s self puisuit in Real order.It ties to make a conclusion that only Lily entered the Real order,could she find her true self and escape harship at that time.
