The authors used direct radioimmunoassay to determine plasma concentrations of human atrial natriuretic pdypeptide (hANP) in patients with impaired renal function. Subjects were divided into hemodialysis group (HD), non-hemodialysis group (NHD) and normal control group. There were 56 cases in HD group, including 30 males and 26 females, ranging in age from 19 to 68 (average 62.5 years). Hemodialysis time was 43.9 ± 5.5 months.
