Objective To understand the knowledge, attitude and behavior of HIV / AIDS among medical students and provide a scientific basis for HIV / AIDS health education in medical colleges and universities. Methods A total of 260 medical students from Xianning College were recruited by cluster random sampling method. The knowledge, attitude and behavior of AIDS were investigated through anonymous self-administered questionnaire. Results Most of the students answered the basic knowledge of AIDS more than 80%, but about 40% of the students still could not correctly judge whether the mosquito bites could spread AIDS. There was a significant difference in the correct rate of AIDS-resistant toothbrush among different races for sharing the razor (P <0.05); in the attitude toward AIDS patients, more than 80% of the students think that the AIDS patients should have privacy Confidentiality. In the AIDS-related behaviors, more than 80% of the students said they would choose to go to public hospitals for medical treatment if they are suspected of having AIDS, and the proportion of those who are willing to interact with their HIV-infected students and who are willing to take care of their relatives with AIDS is on an upward trend. However, there are still a few students who choose to go to private clinics or buy their own medicine. Conclusion Most medical students have a good grasp of the basic knowledge of AIDS, but there are still some misunderstandings about the route of transmission. It is suggested that we should strengthen the education of sexual morality and medical ethics among medical students in the future so as to guide students to enhance their awareness of self-protection and promote their awareness and attitude toward AIDS and their unification.
