玉米田,特别是夏玉米田极易出现草荒。过去,生产上主要以锄耪为主。近几年,随着商品经济的发展,农民对化学除草的要求越来越迫切。1991—1992年6个县(市)8个单位进行的乙阿混剂除草试验和示范,结果表明,乙阿混剂对单子叶杂草防效为86.4%,双子叶防效为87.5%,平均鲜重防效达94.2%,优于进口除草剂杜尔等,对玉米和下茬小麦均未造成不良影响,具有高效、安全、经济、方便等
