Quinoline derivatives have affinity for melanin and can be used to detect melanoma. The authors used chloroquine analogues labeled with ~ (131) I to test whether they could detect ocular melanoma. The yield of labeled product obtained by chloramphenicol (1) labeling with chloramine-T method is very low. According to the chromatographic analysis of different solvents, the composition of the labeled product is very complicated. The different pH and carrier iodine contents all affect the ratio of labeled products. At pH> 4, the major product is 3-iodochloroquine (4), and 3-chloro chloroquine (3) with almost the same Rf value is assigned to HNO 2, K 2 S 2 O 8 and H 2 O 2 / lactate peroxidase, the yields are equally low (10-20%) and more than one labeled product is formed. This may be due to the side chain alkylamino and I ~ + side reactions or oxidants such as chloramine-T, HNO 2 oxidation so that the reaction products
