侗戏是清嘉庆至道光年间处于弱势的侗族文化主动接受并学习汉文化的产物。从汉戏到侗戏实质上是一个本土化民族化的过程,其间侗族柔性的民族性格和以柔为美的审美取向起着主导作用。从表象看,侗族不过是接受一种艺术形式,但它对侗族文化的发展却有着发人深省的深远意义。在它柔弱的形态里蕴涵坚守自我民族文化根基、促进自我民族文化发展、展示侗族人直面强势文化冲击、善于吸收先进文化并结合本民族文化创造发展的内在力量。
Dong opera is the product of the Dong ethnic culture which was in a weak state during the period from Qing Jiaqing to Daoguang to take the initiative to accept and learn Chinese culture. From Han opera to Dong opera, it is essentially a process of localization and nationalization. During this period, the flexible national character of Dongs and the aesthetic orientation of tenderness and beauty play a leading role. From the perspective of appearance, the Dongs merely accept an art form, but it has profound and far-reaching significance for the development of the Dong people’s culture. In its weakened form, it embodies its inherent strength of adhering to the foundation of its own ethnic culture, promoting the development of self-national culture, showing the strong impact of the Dong people on the strong culture, being adept at absorbing the advanced culture and combining with the national culture.
