There is a kind of porcelain with figures in “The Dreams Of Red Chamber”, a Chinese classic novel.This kind of porcelain was produced in the period of the Republic of China. Few people collected or studied it for its young age. Long Jiesheng, residing at Chengdu Yulin Residential Area, however, has collected a lot of this chinaware and his acts have also activated Chengdu’s cultural relics market. To raise the funds for collection, he sold out the house inherited from his ancestry. His collections are not only used for appreciation, but also as objects being studied. Based on his study,he wrote an article, the Artistic Characteristics of the Chinaware with Figures in “The Dreams Of Red Chamber”,which has received a wide recognition of the collectors. Many of his new points in the article are regarded as a supplement to the studies of “The Dreams Of Red Chamber”
