杜大伟(David Dollar),纽约大学经济学博士,达特默思学院中国历史和语言学学士。他曾在加州大学洛杉矶分校经济系任教,并在生产率增长、技术转让和东亚发展等领域发表过大量论著。1990年,杜大伟到世界银行工作,担任亚洲地区的经济学家,在越南的稳定化和市场经济转轨期间为越南政府提供经济政策咨询,并负责编制了世界银行协助越南转轨的第一个国别援助战略。之后,他还曾担任世界银行发展研究局局长,主管世界银行在投资环境和经济增长领域的研究工作,参与编著了世界银行报告《全球化、增长与贫困》和《评价援助》。2004年7月至今,任世界银行东亚和太平洋地区中国和蒙古局局长。
David Dollar, Ph.D. in Economics, New York University, BA in Chinese History and Linguistics, Dartmouth College. He teaches at the Department of Economics at UCLA and has published numerous treatises in areas such as productivity growth, technology transfer and East Asian development. In 1990, Du Dawei went to the World Bank to work as an economist in Asia to provide economic policy advice to the Vietnamese government during the stabilization and market economy transition in Vietnam. He also prepared the first country in the World Bank’s transition to Vietnam Aid strategy. After that, he also served as director of the World Bank’s Bureau for Development Research. He was in charge of the World Bank’s research work in the field of investment environment and economic growth. He co-authored the report of the World Bank on “Globalization, Growth and Poverty” and “Evaluation Assistance.” Since July 2004, he has been the director of the China and Mongolia Bureau of East Asia and the Pacific in the World Bank.
