在欢庆中华人民共和国50华诞和澳门回归的大喜日子里,我们广东画院也迎来了建院40周年纪念。新世纪即将到来,此时此刻我们回首往事,心潮彭湃,思绪万千。 40年前的人民共和国还很年青,各方面建设都在艰苦奋斗的时候,我们共和国的最高领导人没有忘记文化事业,更没有忘记传统中国画的振兴和发展。1956年,最高国务会议通过了周恩来总理提出的在北京和上海各成立一个中国画院的建议。在这形势鼓舞推动下,1959年以朱光市长兼主任的“广州国画院筹备委员会”成立了。筹委会以座谈会等方式开展学术活动,对中国画创作和中国画推陈出新
