《红高粱》以在西柏林获“金熊奖”的桂冠,而成为中国电影走向世界的标志。几十年来中国人民慨叹我们的电影不能自立于世界电影杰作之林的羞愧,被《红高粱》的光彩尽染成振奋、自豪之情。人们翘首企盼,一睹这部被国际电影界权威称之为“真正的”、“杰出的”、“最好的”片子。然而《红高粱》在观众中的反映却让人大吃一惊,交口称道大喊“痛快”者有;意味深长一笑以蔽之者有;摇头莫明其妙者有;大失所望后骂从口出者有……有人曾在小范围的电影爱好者中作过一次调查。把对这部影片的评价分成六个档次:很好、好、较好、可以、较差、糟糕。结果投“很好”票占5.5%;无人投“好”和“较好”的票;说“可以”的占22.2%;云“较差”者占66.7%;言“糟糕”者为5.6%。这个调查虽然局限性很大,不足以据此对《红高粱》作出国民的评判,然而这种有一定代表性的反映,总不会被《红高粱》剧组的功臣们和其他关注我国电影事业发展有
