用成形刀具(如指状或圆片成形铣刀)加工齿轮时,如按展成法加工齿轮的公式来计算切削深度,就会造成次品或废品(齿厚将被铣薄或公法线将被铣小),在生产中很容易出现这样的错误。这是两种不同的加工方法,刀齿相对于被加工齿槽的位置也各不相同。用展成法加工时,刀齿相对于齿槽的位置是在不断变化;在展成每一个齿的过程中,刀齿与齿槽之间的位置总会出现如图1所
