中等师范学校是培养小学(幼儿园)教师的职业学校。一位合格的小学(幼儿园)教师,需要具有较为广博的知识,以及较强的能力,包括表达能力、书写能力、动手能力、组织能力。因此,师范教育不同于普通中学和其他职业学校,必须重视对学生的能力培养,突出师范性。一个教师如果具有了一定的教育教学能力,在与之相应的教育教学过程申,就会处于主动地位,就能有效地发挥主体在教育教学活动中的能动性。任何一种能力的形成,都需要一个长期的艰苦的训练过程。对青年教师来说,其中的专业基本功部分应当在师范学校初步完成。崇明师范开展专业基本功训练已经八年,他们为未来教师所做的既有意义又十分扎实的工作,他们突出师范生的坚定性和进行科学研究的认真态度不仅值得学习,而且值得推广。
