According to the National Development and Reform Commission,COFCO(Guangxi)Bio-Energy Co.,Ltd.has formally operated its 200000 t/a cassava-based fuel alcohol unit in Guangxi province.The company conducted wet commissioning in December 2007.It is the first phase of the 1.0 million t/a non-grain fuel alcohol pilot project,using cassava as raw material.The Phase I will produce annually 200000 tons of fuel alcohol,50000 tons of fibrous feed,nearly 30 million m~3 of biogas and 50000 tons of carbon dioxide.As of March 14th,the Phase I has already produced 11496 tons of anhydrous ethanol,
