皖棉 13号是以泗棉 3号优选系和低酚棉 8号互为父母本 ,采用人工去雄、授粉的强优势杂交棉。根据其亲本特征特性 ,总结出了“封花自交 ,病圃筛选 ,低温冷藏 ,逐年繁殖”的亲本提纯复壮技术 ;以及“集中连片 ,选择田块 ,合理配比 ,适当稀植 ,错开播期 ,调节花期 ,高产栽培 ,提高产量 ,全株杂交 ,集中成铃 ,徒手去雄 ,小瓶授粉 ,认真督查 ,保证纯度”的高产制种技术
