无心工频炉炉衬,普遍采用不同粒度的石英砂混合料,加入适量的硼酸干捣制成。因为石英砂具有既经济,又有好的耐热性、热膨胀系数小等特点,而且松散的炉衬材料具有良好的防止金属液穿透的能力。然而,一个炉衬随着使用时间的延长,特别是随着粘结剂(促熔剂)的加入,及一些其他原因,使得炉衬不断烧结。如果炉衬过早产生整体烧结,易造成漏炉事故,使炉衬寿命大大减少,所以要避免炉衬过早过快产生整体烧结,不仅对防止漏炉,避免产生设备及人身事故非常重要,而且对提高炉衬寿命,为国家节约大量人力、财力及物力也是非常重要的。
