我在《北首岭考古文化与炎帝的踪迹》一文中曾经提出并论证过一个看法,即与炎帝有联系的北首岭先民是以鱼为图腾的,而炎帝之炎乃是两鱼随行的象形。尔后继续考察,又有两个新的收获,一是从甲骨文看,构成炎字的“火”并非许慎在《说文解字》中断定的水火之火,二是从为数颇多的金文辞看,两鱼相随是反映一种原始的“鱼从”观念。下面就这两点略作说明,作为对前文的一个补证。
