在阅读各家的明刀论述中,遇到两枚反写明刀。文字、形制与常见者不同,初则诧异,继而才想追寻它的原因。明刀的面背,是以手持刀柄,刀刃朝左,刀脊朝右时,向上者为刀面,向下者为刀背,其明字正写,固定在刀面,不见反写例。常见燕明刀都是面文明字正写,刀脊中断,向右;背文也正写,刀脊不断,向左。从未见有例外。两枚反写明刀,分别见例一、例二,面文、背文之字,都是反写,且面文不是明字,
