翻译像其他语言形式一样,是达到目的的一种手段。我们不能把翻译看做纯粹的科学,而应当看成可以随时变革自身的一套交际技巧和文字艺术。“模糊翻译”是指今后的翻译应当超越迄今为止教科书中教导的翻译框架,应该更大力度地提倡、学习、应用那些归入但不限于翻译的许多技巧,这不仅包括音译、意译、音意合译,更要包括中国式英语、套译、解释性翻译、编译和译写。在微观翻译技巧中,“准确”与“模糊”之间虽有区别,但同时它们又是一个有机的统一体,二者之间的分野并非泾渭分明。
Translation, like other forms of language, is a means to an end. We can not treat translation as pure science, but as a set of communicative skills and literary arts that can transform itself at any time. “Fuzzy Translation ” means that future translations should transcend the translation framework taught in textbooks so far, and should promote and learn more and apply more techniques, including but not limited to translation, including transliteration, free translation, Phonetic transliteration, but also to include Chinese-style English, set translation, interpretative translation, compilation and translation. Although there are differences between “exact ” and “fuzzy ” in the micro-translation techniques, they are also an organic unity. The division between the two is not entirely different.
