On April 26, the Ministry of Construction held a public meeting on “Energy-saving Design Standard for Public Buildings” (hereinafter referred to as “Standard”) in Beijing. This standard was compiled, reviewed, approved by the Ministry of Construction and released jointly with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China. The standard was put into effect on July 1 this year. This is the first comprehensive national standard for energy-saving design of public buildings released and approved by our country. It summarizes the richness of designing energy-saving design standards for residential buildings in different regions in the past
