Objective To understand the epidemiological distribution of hepatitis B virus (HDV) IgM and IgG in recruits recruits, and provide a scientific basis for future prevention. Methods The serological epidemiological survey method was used to detect the HDVIgM and IgG antibodies of 444 newly recruited sera from 12 provinces and municipalities in the Beijing Military Region in the past 5 years by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and the positive rate was statistically analyzed. The results showed that there was no detectable serum HDVIgM and IgG in recruits during the past years. HDVIgM and IgG were detected in 20 HBsAg positive samples from 9169 recruits recruited in 2006 and 2007, all of which were negative. Conclusion The probability of HDV infection among recruits in the military region is low and the harm is small. Recruits during the recruitment, to strengthen quarantine, hepatitis B vaccination and health education and other effective preventive measures.
