[Objective]This study aimed at identifying two kinds different grape cultivars by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)combined with principal component analysis(PCA)and partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA)based on continuous wavelet transform.[Method]FTIR spectra of 60seedling samples of two grape cultivars were obtained.Significant differences were observed in the second derivative spectra of raw spectral data in the range of 1800-750 cm-1.PCA and PLS-DA based on continuous wavelet transform were performed on the second derivative spectra in this range.[Result]Grape cultivars Red Globe and Autumn Royal were distinguished by PCA and PLS-DA.PCA provided 100%identification accuracy;PLS-DA with nine implicit latent variables yielded100%identification accuracy both for Red Globe and Autumn Royal.[Conclusion]FTIR spectroscopy combined with PCA and PLS-DA could be used to accurately identfy Red Globe and Autumn Royal,which provided a rapid and effective method for distinguishing different varieties of grape.
