挤压型盆地断层不仅控制断陷盆地的形成与构造格局,也控制凹陷的沉积和发育,并且决定油气的运移、聚集、保存等条件。准确分析、认识断层活动的时间和强度对油气勘探具有重要意义。通过对文献调查与研究,对断层纵向上的生长指数法与断层落差法及横向上的地层缩短量研究方法之间的优缺点与相互关系进行对比分析,认为需要找出一类新的研究方法更为立体地研究断层的活动及演化,进而研究断裂与油气藏的关系。
