本刊特邀编委、学者温济泽同志特约并推荐来本文。温老认为，文章涉及的史实，提出了一个重要问题，即中国的抗日战争，到底是从什么时候开始的？他赞成始于“９．１８事变”的看法。他说：“‘９．１８事变’后，东北军民开辟了武装反抗侵略的战场，全国人民首先是学生掀起了汹涌澎湃的抗日救亡斗争。这段历史长期被忽视。今年是‘９．１８事变’６０周年，似应作比较全面的回顾。”本文在回顾这段历史时，以大量翔实史料和生动感人的笔触，既写出了张学良将军爱国至诚、忍辱负重的拳拳之心，又展现了东北人民奋起抗日的英勇斗争。历史早该还其本来面目了，中国抗日战争到底是从１９３７年“７．７事变”开始，还是从１９３１年“９．１８事变”后开始？希望广大读者和研究者能提出自己的看法。
