早籼品种意珍红系宁德地区农科所,于1979年用意印6号与珍白杂交的第四代,再与红410杂交育成的。本品种1981年早季小区测产亩产为401公斤,1982年早季小区测产达504.7公斤,1983年本所品比,产量比红410增2.58％,参加闽东稻区品比,比红410增30.4％。在霞浦县东关农场示范7.1亩,平均亩产400公斤,大区品比亩产427.2公斤,比该场当家品种竹菲10号增产9.7％。建宁县于1983年开始试种推广,1986年推广面积占全县双早(7.4万亩)的70％以上,一般亩产350～400公斤,最高达535公斤。估计全省已推广10万亩以上。
