本刊曾于1993年介绍了东北大学的刘积仁和柴天佑两位青年科学家分别领导的东北大学“软件中心”和“自动化控制中心”的两个青年研究群体,以国家自然科学基金资助项目起步,迅速发展壮大的典型事例。今天,我们的记者再次被另一个优秀的研究群体的事迹所感动。这是一支老中青结合的研究集体,是我国基础研究队伍中的优秀代表——她就是彭坤墀教授领导的山西大学光电研究所。山西大学光电研究所也是在国家自然科学基金等的支持下,不断追赶着量子光电学领域的国际领先水平,信心十足地走上一条不断扩展的路。20多年来,他们战险阻、攻难关,从一个普通高校的普通教研室,逐渐建设发展成为在国内外具有很高影响的从事量子光学研究的重要实验研究基地。近十年来,一批具有重要影响的量子光学的全国性和国际性的学术会议先后在这里召开。不少国外量子光学界同行来光电研究所进行合作与交流,扩大了山西大学在国外学术界的影响。此外还有一些国外青年学者常年在山西大学的光电研究所参与研究活动。每年他们还向复旦大学、中国科学院有关研究所等国内重点单位输送本科生和研究生。可以说,山西大学的光电研究所不仅是国内重要的学术研究基地,也是光学基础研究人才的培养基地。他们通过自己不断的探索和不懈的努力,亲身实?
In 1993, we introduced two youth research groups of Northeastern University “Software Center” and “Automation and Control Center” led by Liu Jiren and Dong-Yung Chai, two young scientists from Northeastern University. They have gradually taken construction and development from ordinary teaching and research institutes in an ordinary university to become major experimental research bases engaged in quantum optics research both at home and abroad.
