三年前,清华大学制定0了一个“男篮振兴计划”、该计划参照清华跳水、田径代表队的训练管理模式,明确提出把聘请高水平专业教练作为球队建设的一个方向。前国家女篮教练董志权因此成为第一位执掌清华男篮帅印的专业教练。在他的调教之下,十几年来一直屈居人大男篮之下的清华军团甩掉了“万年老二”的帽子,连夺两届CUBA联赛北京市选拔赛冠军,成为CUSA赛场上一支不可轻视的新生力量。尽管在执教两年多之后,因与校方产生分歧,董志权带着冲击CUBA八强赛未果的遗憾于2002年3月挂冠而去。但在他之后,更多的专业教练看到了校园篮球的勃勃生机和广阔天地,更多的高校开始从专业篮球界延揽帅才。一场专业教练“插队”运动已经拉开了序幕。
