一、优良母本园的建立和作用我场是广东柑桔新产区。1952年开始在博罗杨村红壤丘陵种植柑桔,当时面积38亩,包括广东三个柑区的八个优良品种: 潮汕柑区的蕉柑,碰柑,雪柑。新会柑区的新会甜橙,香水橙,年桔。四会柑区的大红柑,十月桔。所有这些品种主要来源于原岭南大学农学院园艺系试验场。在国民党反动派统治时期,选种工作只是为了粉饰门面,品种选育之后,没有获得重视和向生产推广。
