Eni’s Sannazzaro refinery in Po Valley, Italy, offers high production flexibility and oil conversion capability with a conversion index of 78% and a production capacity of 9.5Mt / a. The main plant includes two crude oil distillation units and three desulfurization units 1 FCC unit, 2 hydrocracking units, 1 densification unit and 1 descaling unit for residue gasification. The EST plant under construction has a production capacity of 1.15 Mt / a and can process high-sulfur heavy crude oil into high-quality middle distillates with zero fuel oil yield and is scheduled to start production in 2013. It is also developing the second-generation EST technology based on dual-nanocatalysts, Slurry Dual Catalyst, with the goal of improving yield and product quality.
