19世纪在俄罗斯诞生的陀思妥耶夫斯基与20世纪在中国诞生的昌耀在生平经历、情感追求、精神气质等方面有许多相通之处,昌耀也声称对陀氏作品的大力推崇。而20世纪90年代后期,昌耀的文风与陀氏的文风越来越契合,荒诞感的倾向、双重性与病理性人格的出现和对城市的另一种描写可以说是受到陀氏文风的影响的端倪,尤其是陀氏的《地下室手记》,这本书可以说是两人文风产生契合的切入点。而昌耀受陀氏真正影响的深层次原因是陀氏直面人生的精神给予沉默的昌耀心灵上的震撼,从这点上看,陀氏可以称得上是昌耀的精神导师。
