何谓“礼貌”往往会因文化、语境以及个人的观点立场不同而有不同的解读。本文打算从Sperber & Wilson的关联理论来探讨“间接言语礼貌”的一个认知理解侧面。表面上关联理论与礼貌没联系,但实际上礼貌言语的表达与理解都和关联理论密切相关,弱关联的模糊性所导致的语力间接性和最佳关联的特定语境效果为Brown & Levinson最礼貌的非公开性面子威胁行为提供了认知解读基础。 What is “politeness” tends to be interpreted differently depending on the cultural, contextual and personal perspectives? This article intends to explore a cognitive understanding of Indirect Speech Politeness from Sperber & Wilson’s relevance theory. The superficial relevance theory is not related to politeness, but in fact, the expression and understanding of polite language are closely related to relevance theory. The indirectness of weakness and the specific contextual effect of the best relevance are the result of Brown & Levinson The most polite non-disclosure face-threatening behavior provides the basis for cognitive interpretation.
