The hybrid fiber / coax (HFC) network is a newly emerging broadband communications system that represents a new way to broadband communications. This article focuses on its unique network structure and service area concept, and then describes the transmission media, spectrum arrangements, two-way communication, power supply, fiber nodes, all-service network and network management and other considerations.
