改革开放以来,国家对航运采取了一系列的扶持政策,尤其是国务院1995年出台了允放个人购置船舶经营航运的政策出台后,打破了航运由公有制一统天下的格局,交通部又相继出台了“有水大家行船”的政策,迅速形成各部门,各地区、各行业一起干,国营、集体、个体一起上的局面。10年来,在国家经济高速发展的的带动下,珠江水系航运得到很大的发展,基本适应了国民经济发展的需求。
