There are many historic water towns in the south of Yangtze River. They all share common features - rivers and lakes, vertical and horizontal waterways, small bridges. The most valuable is that in these towns, time seems to have stopped. There is no city bustle, you can stroll in the streets of stone, leisurely taste the food, and even sat in a tea house in a daze.
