在南昌县塘南镇,群众谈到日军侵略中国的罪行,没有一个不咬牙切齿。1942年7月17日深夜,日军分别从尤口、太子殿两个据点出动100多人,手持刀枪,带着恶狗奔向30多里外的塘南地区进行残酷的“三光”大扫荡。18日凌晨,日军首先在柘林街(现塘南镇所在地)附近的村里奸淫抢劫,烧毁民房,杀害无辜村民。首先杀害了早已被拘在张家山、吴家祠、祖师坛等三处手无寸铁的农民。
In Tang Nan Town, Nanchang County, the masses talked about the crimes Japan invaded China and none of them gritted their teeth. Late at night on July 17, 1942, the Japanese troops dispatched more than 100 people from two strongholds of Yukou and Prince Edward Temple respectively, armed with knives and guns and wreaked havoc toward the Tangnan area of over 30 miles for cruel “three-light” large Raids Early on the 18th, the Japanese troops first raped and looted villages in the vicinity of Gao Lin Street (now the seat of Tangnan Town), destroying houses and killing innocent villagers. First, they killed the unarmed peasants who had been detained in three locations: Zhang Jiashan, Wu Ancestral Temple and Patriarch altar.
