November 24, 2000 held in Cairns, Australia, the 24th World Heritage Committee meeting decided to include the ancient villages of Anhui, China Xidi, Hongcun included in the World Heritage List. Hongcun is located in the northwest corner of Juxian County in Anhui Province (postcode 245500), 65 kilometers away from Tunxi in Huangshan City and 11 kilometers away from Jixian County. The village was built in the Northern Song Dynasty, dating back nearly a thousand years of history, the original family surnamed Wang clan.
