辽粳五号水稻新品种,是沈阳市浑河农场农艺师杨胜东于1976年育成,1981年经辽宁省农作物品种审定委员会审定命名。1982年获原农垦部和辽宁省重大科技成果奖,1983年底获国家发明二等奖。辽粳五号秆矮粗壮、坚韧、直立不倾,株高90厘米左右,叶片短、宽、厚,上举,分蘖集中,株型结构紧凑匀称,受光态势好,透光性强,穗直立,是个高光效理想株型的品种。该品种成穗率高,穗头整齐(穗长15厘米左右),每穗实粒数80—90粒,千粒重25克,并且耐肥、抗倒、耐旱、耐低温、抗病,适于密植,生育期在沈阳为155天左右。
