English listening and speaking ability is the basic ability for students to express and communicate ideas on the ba-sis of English knowledge.Nowadays,in the process of college English teaching, the cultivation of students' listening and speaking ability is constantly strengthened. However,in the practice of college English listening and speaking teaching,lis-tening and speaking class still lags behind reading and writing class,which affects the overall improvement of students'English listening and speaking ability.This paper,combining with prac-tice,discusses the problems existing in college English listening and speaking teaching,in order to explore an effective teaching mode of college English listening and speaking,further cultivate and improve students'overall English listening and speaking a-bility,train more high-quality English talents for the society, and meet the development needs of modern society.
