Two solid-frame transfer image sensors made with charge-coupled devices are suitable for use with 625-line PAL and 525-line NTSC television cameras. In addition to the benefits of a conventional television camera tube - long life, no internal burn spots, no optical distortion or tremulous noise, this sensor also features high resolution and noise suppression. High resolution is achieved with 604 equally spaced pixels per line, horizontal resolution greater than 400 lines in black and white or three color video cameras.
